How do I find out who is on the watchlist?

How do I find out if Im on the homeland security watchlist? how do I remove my name? The reason I ask is 5?

  • years ago my bf had a traumatic event happen and he was planning on doing some real bad things, after I found out despite being the love of my life (or so I thought) I turned him in, it was a quiet case but stunned everyone since it was a white guy who grew up in a safe country. Anyways with my help they seized guns and explosives from my home. Now where I am I am fine I have legal permits to own weapons ect and no record of course. But whenever I travel to the usa my luggage is always checked, I always get a letter from homeland security (every flight) not once a trip, Ive even been tested for exploisive residue before flying. Now this to me doesnt seem random since Im a 25 year old white woman and it happens everytime. My frustration is why would I be on the list I lost everything to help the governments stop him and save countless lives. It would have been far worse then a columbine and everyone's always like why didnt anyone do anything I feel like instead of being officially thanked I was punched in the face and kicked in the ***, they dont delay my flights but its humiliating, I once even had to take my shirt off in a public place for them to test me for chemicals (supposedly random)

    of course you are on the anti-terrorism watchlist. better get used to it. with that history it's a wonder you're not on the no fly list. as for getting off this list, there is little chance of that happening. i'm sure you think you did a good thing turning him in, but when it comes down to it, you are classified as a snitch. in law enforcement snitches are usually understood to be as guilty as those they turn in. the damage done to our rights, by the extreme right wing during the Bush years, will probably never go away.

I don't know that you can do anything to get your name off the list. I'm glad you turned that guy in. A friend of mine with a very common type name (John Bennett) has a similar problem and travels often for his job, both here in the US and into Canada. He hasn't figured out a way off the list so just has to grin and bear it. And he's not the actual person whose name is on the list. Your name is probably on the list because of your past association - even though you were the wonderful person to expose the jerk. Good luck and thanks again for turning him into the authorities.

A lot of people get tested for explosives when they pass through security at the airport. My briefcase was tested because unknowingly I left a pair of tweezers deep inside one of the pockets. They check just about every-ones luggage these days. They could be checking in case someone else planted something in your luggage. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you have nothing to hide. BTW- that was very a very honourable thing you did.

wow.. first off i have no answer for you i just wanted to say thank you for most likely saving the lives of others... u did the right thing for sure though i bet it hurt like he|| him being your love... its horrible that you have to go through all that bs, you did the right thing and being punished for it, it seems.. its wrong but i'm not sure what could be done to stop what they are doing ya know... good luck in finding an answer.
