Can i still become a police officer or correctional officer, please help!?
-
hey im 21 right now and im working as a electrician apprentice, my dream was to become a police officer or corrections officer. when i was 14/15 years old i got into a bit of trouble with the police i was caught shoplifting at walmart but luckily the police officer didn't charge me but he told me he would still put it on my record, ive smoked weed twice when i was 14/15 and i got into a little trouble downtown one night for almost fighting some guy i really didn't like when i was 15. i have also called the police on a couple guys when i was 14/15 because they kept on bothering me and i didn't want to fight them cause it was pointless. the police also showed up twice to my house because my parents got into a argument and they were yelling so the police wanted to make sure everything was ok. do you think i still have a chance at becoming a police officer or corrections officer. i havent gotten in any trouble with the police since i was 16 years old, i dont have any speeding tickets or anything like that. so pretty much i was just wondering if any police officers could tell me if i still have a chance at becoming a cop or corrections officer. i also have a 2 year college diploma. Thanks!

Answer:
Here in australia you would be able to if it was miner offences before 18. One mistake you did was get caught with drugs. Even here I'm not sure they would accept that.

Yes. You still have a chance on getting a job in law enforcement rather it be corrections or patrol you still have the opportunity to becoming one. Just remember one thing be honest and most charges they want to know are about when you were older unless directly asked to you and if it's not on your record or has been expundged then you don't have to report it legally NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY! So if your driving record is good, you have good refrences because they will contact them, you have a clean adult criminal record, you don't have any crimes of moral turpitude and you can fire a weapon you're good to go. So good luck and hopefully I can meet you at the national police convention one year!
Sure you can u have a clean record..you have not been charged with anything.they wont put it on ur record if u havent been actualy charged for a crime...good luck
