What is street smart?

What should this person do? I need a policemen or street-smart person's advice?

• Imagine this scenario. You and your girlfriend decided to meet up in a restaurant outside the city. You told your girlfriend to get seats while you will come later and you turned off your phone. Later you arrive at the restaurant and see your girlfriend crying and you immediately went up to her "Hey, hey, hey what happened? Why are you crying?" You pull out a tissue from your pocket and gave it to her as she wipes off the tears and she begins to explain. "After you hung up i went to the restaurant to get us a spot like you said. The reception numbered me in her head. The reception then left and a seat was available. Soon another couple came in. It was only me and the couple that was there and no body else. Another worker then showed up and asked who was first because the first worker that went injured himself and has left the restaurant. I said I was first but the couple lied and forced their way in. The second worker was too busy because he was being called back again and so he just led the couple in and forgot about me. The couple knew I was first, but they took advantage of the situation on purpose because I was alone" As you continue to dry her tears, you ask where is the couple now and she points in the direction. The boyfriend also sees her pointing at his direction and he returns with a smirk. The boyfriend also looks very boorish so talking with him isn't going to work either. Now you are very angry, but the boyfriend is buff so you are a little intimated. Complaining to the restaurant isn't an option as the best they will do is give a half-assed apology which isn't enough to heal your girlfriend's pride. Now my question is what is the best thing the man can do? And for a bonus, in general if your girlfriend is being hurt in a situation similar to this one and the boyfriend is also boorish and authority figures are useless, what is the best thing to do? E.g. think about something like this in school, where teachers are useless and will bring more harm then good.

  You make a complaint and then leave to spend your money elsewhere. And i would advise the girl friend to grow up. Crying about not getting seated first is immature.
