What jobs can i get with a criminal justice major and a minor in spanish?

  • Im going to take these courses at uni. I know that i can go into a law enforcement agency but i was wondering what other jobs can i get! i was wondering about getting a job in immigration but i would really like some more info!!! thanks

    Do the reverse- major in Spanish I am going to do you the biggest favor- I have a BS in Criminal Justice - it will not do one thing more in Police work then a BS in Business and will hurt you if you are not in that business. I regret going that route because my plans for the FBI were derailed due to an unknown medical condition ( eyesight). The Spanish is an open door to everything and I only wish someone had told me this.

I heard that INS is hiring many people right now. Immigration and Naturalization includes the Border Patrol, I think, but has many other sorts of functions as well. You could also work for Probation, Parole, Community Relations, Child Protective Services, Youth Authority, Customs, Department of Justice, District Attorney, Public Defender's office, mediation - the field is wide-open. And the Hispanic population is growing rapidly. Good translators are hard to find!
