  • so i want to become a detective in Seattle but i live in California is it possible i can become a detective there? well first off how do you become a cop whats a good college/school to go to after high school? than What??

f you want to be a Seattle detective, apply to the Seattle PD when you reach 21. They will send you information on testing.f you pass the testing, they will notify you and let you know when to report to the academy (cop school, sheesh). when you have sufficient time on the streets, watch for the announcements open in the detective division. Submit a latter of interest and go through the testing for the position. rank and detectives are competitve. Good luck.

starlord and charlessey are correct. Mr. cool is a troll who took my old Y!A profile and says stupid things. Seattle does not require any education beyond HS or GED to apply. If you eventually want to be a detective and you want to be a great cop before that do attend college. You cannot apply until you are 20.5 years old anyway. Major in anything you want going to any college you want as long as the school is properly accredited. To help in police work I suggest you take a couple of classes that help you learn how to think logically and critically, like intro to philosophy and/or comparative religions. Do stay away form any so called cop preparedness classes like criminal justice or criminalistics or police science. They will not help you get on the job nor help you when a cop beyond anything you will get in the Seattle police academy. You can live in California throughout the application process but before hire must move to Washington State and get a Washington driver's license.

Go to a college get your Bachelor's in Criminal Justice in the field of law enforcement. Go to a police academy in Washington and complete it in order to get your certification to be a law enforcement officer. Then, get hired by the Seattle PD and you star of as a regular police officer then after 3-6 years you can become a detective
