How can I find out if my boyfriend has a bench warrant?

    If he owes money from a civil suit, there is no warrant issued. they will most likely put a judgement against him and garnish his wages. it will show up on his credit report and they can possibly seize property. If the money owed is for a fine from a guilty verdict in a criminal offense (he got arrested or a summons) they can issue a warrant and place him in jail instead of paying the fine. You can go to the department web site and they usually have a wanted persons section or link, but that is usually the more serious wanted people. They usually won't release that info to you. If the sheriff's department left a notice then they want him for something. P.s. I would not hide him...you could be charged with harboring a fugitive. and other charges ( depending on your state ).

Have him walk in to a Sheriff's office and ask. If he leaves, there is no warrant.
