How Demanding Are the CIA's Hiring Policies?

  • Recently I've taken some interest in posibly working for the CIA after I get out of the Army. Assuming that I am able to gain language fluency over the course of the next few years what would you say my prospects are for being hired by the CIA? I have a Bachelors Degree in Political Science, will have at least 3 years of Active Military Service, and if all goes as planned will also gain proficiency in one of the crucial languages of Arabic, Farsi, Russian or Chinese. I also plan on going back to college next year and getting another bachelors degree in Engineering though I seriously doubt I'll have completed this degree by the time I apply to the Central Intelligence Agency. Say I wanted to work in Clandestine operations or something of that nature - does anyone know of how demanding the CIA is in its hiring policies? Anyone with personal, second-hand experience in this? I would really be honored to serve the nation in another capacity but I'd like to know how realistic a chance I have at actually being accepted. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions everyone.
