What to do to become a pharmacist?

Can I still become a Pharmacist with a (shoplifting) Misdemeanor record? What if its a Felony-shoplifting?

  • 18 year old. I was caught shoplifting 3 days ago and my court date is on December 30. I might be convicted for a felony but I'm praying only for a misdemeanor. What are my chances of still becoming a pharmacist in the future if I am convicted for a felony? What if its a misdemeanor? ---I live in CA ---My plans: currently in Jr. college, transfer to UCI, apply to San Diego Pharmacy school, become a Pharmacist, enter pharmaceutical sales.

  • Answer:

I read some links and it looks like only felony drug charges disqualify you. Shoplifting is a deep seated psychological problem. I recommend you get some counselling.

If you get a misdemeanor you might have a chance, if it's a felony almost no chance. Think of it the way they think of it. You are going to be with thousands of dollars worth of pills, many of which are narcotics, pain pills, and you steal and have a felony conviction.

A thief with a pharmacist's license? I dunno.
