What jobs can I get with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice in Iowa?

  • I'm hoping getting the degree will not just be a waste of time. Preferrably I'd like to get into the US Marshals but they want 4 years. I start next month and am hoping that I can get a good career straight out of college. Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    My advice is to stay away from criminal justice. Its a worthless degree. Police departments are not impressed by it and there are thousands of young people in college right now taking these courses and it will not help them a bit when they apply for positions in law enforcement. Most of them are not qualified for police work and then when they try to get a job in the private sector they will realize their mistake. Your AA degree might get you a job as a dispatcher or file clerk.

You can get a job husking corn. Unfortunately, most places want AT LEAST a bachelor's degree WITH 3+ years of experience. The ironic thing is that you can't get the experience if nobody will hire you in the first place.
