Why do I have sudden fast and pounding heartbeats?

What is causing this pounding headache?

  • I have been having a pounding headache off and on for a month or so now. It is especially bad right now, out of nowhere. I only drink caffeine soda, and I quit drinking coffee a while back. I can hear the blood pumping sometimes in my ears, or feel it in my neck. It gets worse when I bend over and it will cause feel so much pressure on my eyes. My head hurts much more when I turn my neck, I suspect as I put pressure on major arteries and/or veins in my neck. The pounding also gets worse when I stand up or move around a lot. It is very hot and sunny here, but I was only outside a couple of times today and only while walking from my car across a parking lot. And I took a nap today also. It seems to be worse after I took the nap (not that I'm insinuating they're related). I have heard that migraines tend to be a pounding head ache, but I am not sure if that is what I have? Does anyone else experience such a pounding headache or does anyone know what could cause it? Thank you so much for your feedback.

  • Answer:

headaches can be cause by any number of things, stress, light, noise, even burnt food! But basically, if you have no idea and its recurring, then just get down to your local GP and get a diagnosis. better safe than sorry!
