How can I get rid of fluid in the ears?

How do ENT doctors get fluid or mucus out of your ears if you have either one of these in your ears?

  • My ears have been making sounds (cracking/clicking) when i swallow for a month and i dont know why my ears are doing this. I went to the doctor on the 4th of this month and the nurse looked in my ears (they were fine) and in my nose and said i have ETD and allergies. So she prescribed me some nasal spray called Fluticasone Propionate for me to take for a month and see if the noise in my ears would stop. I wasnt sick before this happened. I dont know if its mucus or fluid trapped in my ears, but i think it could be fluid (but i dont feel anything wet in my ears). I been sneezing alot though.

  • Answer:

It is most definitely fluid behind your ear drum. The Dr can lance the drum and suction the fluid out. To do that they put a little anesthetic cream on a Qtip, stick that in your outter ear canal and touch your eardrum with it to deaden it. Then they stick a long skinny exacto knife in your ear canal and cut a tiny slit in your ear drum. Then they use a thin suction tube like at the dentist and suction out the fluid through the slit. The slit closes and heals on its own in 3 or 4 days good as new. You can also try eliminating the fluid yourself using the Earadicator remedy. It has worked for many people and it attacks the fluid filled ear from the inside.
