Is being a EKG tech a good job??

Does certification in EKG entitle me to a job?

  • I'm working on getting into nursing school, I was thinking of also taking a Boces course to get certified in EKG. I was wondering, would this allow me to get a decent paying job at a hospital or doctors office working with EKG or does someone who operates the EKG also have otter responsibilities that one would need to be certified in? Basically, am I wasting my time paying the 900 dollars for an EKG course? I'd like to get an entry level position at a hospital (15$/ hr), would EKG certification go a long way?

  • Answer:

Absolutely not. No one is entitled to a job.

It doesn't entitle you to a job but nothing really does. However if you mean can you get a job with just EKG certification, yes you probably can. This website has some great information on on a ton of careers including an EKG Technician, which is what I think you could be, it also depends on how extensive the training program is. Good Luck!! :]
