How can I strengthen my veins?

What can cause veins darkening on hands after shooting up morphine?

  • I was recently at the doctors, needed a blood test, the doctor was a bit dodgy and kept missing my vein, so he had to go in my hand,-at the back of my wrist to be most precise. he got a vein in my hand, but even since then i have had wrist pain and a bruise on my wrist, 2 of my fingers ocassionally get pain, plus my hand veins have darkened and gone a purpley blue color. not the back of my hand, or wrist, mainly just the palm sides veins are all very noticeably darker, and veins coming up that i never knew were even there, veins in the creases on my fingers showing. what could this be? also feel a bit fatigue and dizzy and loss of appetite. quite worried, would be really appreciative of any answers. Thank you heaps :) he also tied the tourniquet very tight, im not sure if this could play a part, also he injected me with a painkiller. I saw the doctor 4-5days ago, the veins have been getting darker and darker for almost 3 days now. 2 hours ago - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details the veins arent bulging, there just really dark, and i have never really been able to see veins on my palms, now i can see them all and there dark purple.

I recommend you have it looked at by a healthcare professional. Because no matter what anyone says on here, we're not doctors who are staring at your hand. I usually have to have blood taken from the back of my hand too, my veins are difficult to find. (me being a girl, they don't bulge like most men's do) and they usually bruise afterwards too. Its called a "blown vein" and repairs itself like a normaly bruise. However, since its on the other side of your hand, and getting darker, I suspect a problem with the needle. The needle was probably dirty, infected or compromised in some way that has spread to your hand. I really highly recommend that you see a doctor or go to the ER if your having pains. Its better to have it looked at rather than put yourself at a higher risk of disease or losing your hand. Good luck. I hope everything gets better.
