Why are you even more tired after you get too much sleep?

No matter how much sleep I get, I'm still tired. Why am I so tired?

  • The past two or three weeks, I have been sleeping constantly. More then usual. I could sleep anywhere from 6-11hrs one night, wake up and feel even more tired then I did before i fell asleep. I try to wake myself up, but am just so physically exhausted that I sleep the majority of the day. And I am still completely exhausted and ready for more sleep. At school too, I struggle keeping awake, and everytime I get home, I sleep for at least three hours. Even that though, I am tired 2 hours later and end up falling asleep really early. I don't know if this is normal? And i don't know what to do. I haven't felt fully awake in more than 3 weeks. Help me! I am so tired of sleeping. *And I know that you can be tired from sleeping too much, but I feel like that isn't the case this time.

Get a check-up at your doctor. You could have anemia or mono or depression.

It's hard to say as it could be many things. Stress. Illness. A condition like hypothyroidism (very common). I would mention this to your doctor.

Under eating and dehydration are common causes of fatigue. Most people don't drink enough water. Perhaps you need to improve your diet. More fruit and vegetables for more antioxidants and enzymes for better health and more energy.
