Painful when donating blood?

When donating blood....?

  • What are we helping people with??? Is it like, lost-a-ton-of-blood-in-a-car-crash type thing? Or, birth? Or diabetes? What are we donating the blood to?

  • Answer:

you are donating it to the blood bank which gives it to people who need it. it could be trauma patients, births, surgeries, some diseases that need blood transfussions....anything. it's a great thing to do and saves tons of lives.

Other answers

When you go to a blood bank or blood drive, sometimes they'll let you know. When I had donated blood, since I have a rare blood type it went to people needing a transfusion. All in all, donating blood is a good cause no matter who it goes to. :-)

A rough list would include patients with cancer, AIDS, anemia (including sickle cell), trauma, surgery, hemophilia, obstetric emergencies, newborns including preemies, etc. The #1 "consumer group" is cancer patients.
