How do I sleep in a better position?

How can I sleep in the same position all night?

  • I have lower back problems which requires me to sleep on my back, but whenever I wake up I'm always in another position and when I get out my back hurts. The doctor recommends I try to sleep on my back as much as possible.

  • Answer:

I had the same problem - so I put a tennis ball taped to my side - so that when I turned over it reminded me - it did retrain me to stay on my back. Laying on our back is fine for a while but when we feel vulnerable, we naturally move to a foetal position, so perhaps you could look at your environment ie. external noise, light. I hope this helps. Hello, Yes, the back is basically the only place where you should sleep on when you are having problems. I suggest that you have two semi soft things on each side of your so that you know not to turn. Your mind automatically stops you from turing over if you have two small pillows or bottles on the side. I have actually used this method and it workds for me. Thanks

personally i had ongoing bppv so if i moved positions i would get dizzy, i just woke up, sat up, moved positions then back to sleep, you need to train, or try tossing some hard pillows against your back to keep you from turning
