Where can I take the Prerequisites of vocational nursing?

Are prerequisites the same as general education courses?trying to get into nursing school?

  • i don't understand the process of getting into nursing school so are prerequisites like general ed. courses like getting a aa degree? and if i take some prerequisites at my high school do i have to take them in college? i took pre-calc,psychology,sociology,and Business.

    Depends on whether you want to be an LVN or RN. You can become a LVN by taking a year-long course at a vocational school or community college. You can advance to LVN by enrolling in a LVN to RN courses or can go to a university to receive a BSN degree. RN's can make as much as twice the salary of a LVN.

you listed general education courses. a pre-req is like you have to take Chem 1 before Chem 2, which comes before Chem 3,,,, of course, Algebra is a pre-req for pre-calc, but still in the gen ed area. the college brochure should lay out a path of classes to get you to your degree

Yes you have to take them at the college/university level before applying to the nursing program. The level you took them at in high school is not enough.Contact the program you want to get into to find out what their prerequisites are.
