What could cause sudden blurry spot in vision?

A change in my vision, is this eye strain?

  • Ever since I bought a new laptop my eyes have been weird. Things aren't blurry but something just looks different, it causes me to be a little disorientated at times. My laptop seems to have a flicker in its light source or something, I can see it no matter how dim I make it. And that flicker that I see on my laptop seems to be what I see all the time even when not looking at my laptop. One day I was looking at my laptop and I realized how long I wouldn't blink for and I got this spot in my vision where there was nothing, a blind spot I guess it could be. And when I would blink and kinda squint my eyes while doing it, I would see a black circle in that same blind spot. That only happened once though. Also when I look at an image, and I look away, I can still see the image in a form of a weird flicker. Just like the flicker my laptop seems to put off. None of my friends can see it in my laptop which is weird. They do admit it's bright but that's about it. Oh and at night, things are just much worse. The flicker I see from my laptop is what i see in any dark area's I look. It's like my eyes are trying to light up a dark area but really it just makes it hard to see. And what I say flicker it's like a constant strobe light, it's so hard to explain it but that's all I can think of, heh. Am I experiencing eye strain? I don't have insurance so no doctors will see me. I remember walmart having an eye care center. Would they be able to figure out what's going on or are they there just to sell you glasses? It's messed up too, cause I am willing to pay a cost to get a exam by a real doctor but when I say I don't have insurance they tell me there's nothing they can do. Like...how much can this really cost? I'll pay up to 500 bucks if I have to, my vision is messed up and its scaring me. Thank you in advance. good day

  • Answer:

An eye strain is a possibility. You may need glasses for use while computing. Wal-Mart does have an eye exam facility. It should not be too expensive to go there. Try them and let the tech know exactly what happened and when it is at its worst. Good Luck.
