How much does alcohol affect basal temperature?

Can alcohol poisoning affect my menstrual cycle?

  • I am 25 years old. On Saturday, June 4th, I had too many full glasses of wine to drink and a shot of vodka within 2 hours. I blacked out while having a conversation with friends that I don't remember about. At this point, I was unconscious, and a friend told me that I seemed fine while talking to everyone until he noticed I started to hiccup, which was a sign that I needed to vomit. As he walked me to the stairway, I fell down and began to vomit one after another. Another friend carried me to the bathroom upstairs and placed me in the bathtub so that my sister can clean me up. I started to shiver uncontrollably because my body temperature was dropping. From then on, I kept gagging throughout the night. When I woke up, I still felt nauseous. I tried to drink gatorade and water but it was difficult. 12 hours had passed since I began vomiting the night before and I was left with a hangover the entire day (June 5th) since I woke up. I did not eat a single meal during the day until midnight because my appetite was very low. On the 6th, I felt better. My appetite was normal. My period was expected to occur on Thursday, June 9. It is now June 15 and I am 6 days late and am worried as to what could have caused it. Is it possible that when I got sick from alcohol consumption- possibly alcohol poisoning, that may have a major affect on the delay of my menstruation? If so, how long is the approximate delay? I am also worried about not having a job & have been job hunting everyday. I read that stress/worrying can delay menstruation as well. But I don't think this kind of worrying is enough to affect it since I have been worried last month and I still got my period. If this is a matter of relaxing, what can I do to induce my period?

stress definitely does affect menstruation as does any stomach upset which you would have had due to the alcohol binge.are you sure there isn't a chance you are pregnant? the alcohol may have affected you worse because you are and this would account for the no show of your period

One way to relax is to have a few glasses of wine ;)

You only have one brain and one body, the first thing is to stop abusing them both. You did have alcohol poisoning and hopefully that will be the last time. That and stress will both have a big effect on your body, your brain and so your menstrual cycle. Look after your health.
