Do I have an abdominal hernia?

Abdominal hernia?!?!?!?

Since the summer I'd been suffering, but I didn't find out until a trip to urgent care in October that I had a hernia. The doctor explained it as my stomach pushed through my abdominal wall, which is why the area was so tender and bloated. It was obvious when looking at my stomach that there was a problem since it stuck out so bad. I was told surgery would be the only solution to fix the discomfort, BUT then other people are telling me it could be life-threatening. Has anyone suffered from an abdominal hernia or have any idea what I'm going through? I need to know what the deal is with this, especially if I plan on having children in the future.

I had abdominal hernia repair last year.. went well. Talk to your doctor as there are new ways of doing it . mine is reenforced by mesh.. Women have repeated C sections so I don't thnk pregnancy would be a major problem after repair.l
