What tips can you give to get into a normal sleep routine?

Can anyone give me some tips on how I can go to sleep?

  • I have lately been going to bed at 6:00-6:30 am. But yesterday( thursday) morning I ended up going to sleep at 8:30 am, but only slept three hours; because I had to get up to go to a Dr. App. Then I was getting sleepy and I went to bed about a quarter till 11:00 pm, and I also took some NyQuil. Well, I went to sleep for about an hour, then woke up for like 20 min, and then slept a hour and woke up again. The time right now is 2:30 am. What tips can someone give me that I will be able to go to sleep. ( Also, because of anything someone might recommend, they should no that I am 15 1/2 years old and there are some sleeping pills and things that teenagers can't take.) Please, can someone help?

  • Answer:

you should try to sleep like the other people...but to do so,you will need time as your body must adapt with the time first..so first you must sleep just like others..

Do you have insomnia? I have insomnia and it takes me a while to go to sleep. You should go see your doctor about your sleeping problems. In the meantime, you should take note on how you feel before sleeping. If you feel extremely tired, but unable to go to sleep, go take an advil (or something similar to help your brain relax) and try sleeping again in 10-20 minutes. If you lay in bed, but you're unable to fall asleep or get sleepy, get up. If you continue to lay there, your body will get use to laying there (in bed) and not falling asleep. You could try drinking warm milk, but I can't stand it. Make sure to never take long naps, once you take hours of a nap and wake up, it'll be hard to continue your sleep cycle.

just call a nurse and tell her you have insomnia, they will have good sugestions. try working out before going to bed

you could go read a law book. that always puts me to sleep.

Seeing doctor might be a good idea, but I personally believe you can manage it by yourself. Don't touch the sleeping pills, it will worse after some time. Just try reading book while trying to sleep, or maybe listening to music. It's actually very individual, 'cause for some reason most people find it difficult to sleep under music. Less computer at night time would be awesome also.
