Knee problems help please?

Does not eating a certain way cause all health problems? PLEASE HELP!!!!!?

  • It is kind of a long story, but I will pose the question first in case you dont have time to read the whole story! I need to know what effect food has on your health... Does it cause ALL health problems if you dont eat "healthy"? Allergies, knee problems which stem from the job you work? EVERYTHING? Is it ok to take medicine to get better or should you lay in bed and suffer for weeks upon weeks drinking water and eating garlic to get over a sinus infection? I have some "health problems" which are pretty minor... Allergies, Acid Reflux, constant headaches which i have been told is probably caused by muscle damage in my neck from a car accident, back pains from the same accident, and if I get a cold, I have a tendency for it to turn into sinus infection. Somebody I know has been quite a jerk about these problems telling me that they are all my own fault. This person says that all of my problems are caused by the way I eat b/c I dont eat exactly what they think I should. I eat healthy... fruits, veggies, meat, everything! I eat healthier than this person does in fact. But still they say that it is all my fault that I have these problems. I recently got a sinus infection from a cold that this person gave me (which would indicate that my immune system was stronger since i didnt get it first and got it so long after they had it). I went to the doctor to get meds to get over it, but aparently that is a horrible thing to do. I should have eaten garlic according to this person and it would have cured me. But instead I got medicine that is going to wreck my body now I guess. I understand that medications have side effects and everything and that you shouldnt be on them long term. I have had 2 perscriptions this year for a sinus infection. Also they said that ALL problems are caused by not eating good enough. My dad recently had surgery on his knee and that is his fault b/c he didnt eat good enough, when it is damage from the type of job he works. I had surgery on my sinuses because they are very small and werent structurally right also to fix a broken nose from the car accident which had blocked the left side of my sinuses nearly 100%... but this was all my fault b/c if I had eaten better I wouldnt have had to have this surgery. I dont know how eating healty can fix bone structure, but anyway....... I want to know some more information about this if you could please help... Is everything caused by eating so called "unhealthy"? My allergies, sinus problems, everything? Is it totally wrong to go on medication to get over something instead of just laying in bed longer drinking water and eating garlic for weeks and weeks and weeks? I need lots of information on this and sources that I can check out too. I have been searching online for information and was hoping that all the smart people on here could help me out too! Thank you!! :)

Hi there. There are some people who believe the way the person you know - but I am not one of them. Good health is not as simple as just eating food. Eating good foods is important - but not the whole picture. I was born with an orthopedic handicap in my hips. I got it from my mom. Since I was breast fed from the start - it wasn't food that did this to me but my mom and dad's genes. Maybe crabby sinus run in your family - everyone has predetermined genetic tendencies. The amount of stress that this person is causing you will certainly do you more harm than any food would. If there is no way you can avoid this person, perhaps the both of you could agree to disagree. Point out that there is no way the 2 of you are ever going to agree on this, but that there are many other things to talk about in life. If they start in again the next time your sinus are unhappy - just thank them for their concern and change the topic. Try to get enough sleep every night, eat good food and not fast food, and stay away from people who are stressful to you. I think what words come out of someone's mouth can do more harm than any food ever did. Much good luck to you on this!

Hi what you eat does affect your health but the health problems you have are in no way connected to your diet,It just sounds like this person is obsessed with this subject and is trying to push it all on anyone who will listen. Ignore him and carry on the way you are going; Hope you are all better soon.

There is a saying that you are what you eat. Healthy eating will certainly ensure better health than junk eating but you can still have health problems no matter how well you eat. Besides healthy eating plenty of exercise also helps.
