How can I prevent varicose veins?

Im 16 and i really want to prevent myself from getting varicose veins.?

• Im 16, i live in a Spain and im quite active.. But i am scared that in the future i am going to get varicose veins. My dad had it and so did his mum. My veins are already very close to my skin and i have a small really dark one on the back of my leg. What i want to know is can i prevent myself from getting varicose veins? Or will i just get it anyway because its in my family. If i can prevent them what are some good ways? I heard birth control pills increase varicose veins. I take the pills and i really dont want to stop. Anyone have any ideas for me to prevent it while im young. Thanks in advance.
