Why does my knee hurt so much?

Why doe's my knee hurt and swell up?

• i hurt my knee makin a tackle in football/soccer. my oppnent was twice my size and went to strike the ball with all his power. i blocked it with the bottom of my foot with my leg locked in a straight position. the ball did not move as we both made contact with ball at the excact same time. it did not hurt my foot but i felt a shooting pain in my knee as it happened. the pain stayed for about 10 minute after it happened and i contenplated bringing my self off. the pain went but came back later that night when my body cooled down. just not as bad. and has troubled me for about 3 months now. it also swells up. but when i play... i feel nothin. i feel it the mornin after. some times., when its in uncolmfable positins. it feels like im gona get cramp in my knee. but like i said, i dont feel a thing when playin. i dont wana go to the doctors cos i dont wana waist half a days holiday when i know what he's gona say. he'll jus tell me 2 rest it cos he couldnt care less. by restin it.. it would also mean takin time of work.sumthin i can not afford 2 do. i know my work plays apart in my knee not healin. i'm stood up all day. but i need to be in.

  It could be an inflammation from an injured ligament in your foot. Often, those heal by themselves but you can add to the healing process by putting ice on your foot and knee every opportunity you get and by drinking pineapple juice(plenty of it)--Pineapple juice has bromelaine in it which has anti-inflammatory properties. I'd say give that a try for a month or so. If the pain just would not go away I'd go to a doc to see if I can take an MRI in order to find out what's going on with that knee/foot. More or less it's a sports injury and they often involve sprayned or ripped fibers in the muscles or torn ligaments.....good luck
