If you broke your knuckle how long after the injury would the bruise show up?

I hurt my knuckle, dont know whats wrong, i punched a wall though long story and then it bruised abit and was swollen it sort of went down then i fell on it and all the swellings come back up if it was going to bruise again because that is one of the symptons of a broken knuckle how long would it take to form a bruise on your knuckle? I read somewhere a few days after sometimes. ??

Answer:
I broke my hand three times and it never bruised so I don't know what to tell you. It swelled up really bad the next day each time I did it and it usually would take a few months for the swelling to completely go down.
