Can muscle relaxers cause blood clots? How?
-
My boyfriend woke up a day ago with his leg hurting. The night before he over took some muscle relaxers. He went to work the next day only to come home early, with paleness, cold feeling, and some numbness in his leg that had been hurting. He went to the hospital and had a blood clot in his leg. How did the muscle relaxers cause a blood clot in his leg???

Answer:
muscle relaxers do not cause blood clots. My guess is that your boyfriend had muscle pain in his leg and took the muscle relaxer. It didn't help, because the real problem was the blood clot. Make sure his doctor knows he has a blood clot; it isn't a normal thing for a young guy to get a blood clot unless he has had major surgery recently. His doctor might wish to run some tests.
