How long will it take my broken foot to completely heal?

How long will it take for a broken foot to heal?

  • I realize it all depends on the severity of the injury. I dropped a 300+ lb. dresser on my foot. We're icing it now, but it's already turning black and blue and swelling pretty badly. My father is almost positive it is broken (I broke the same foot last year, during a soccer game some girl stomped on me and broke my foot, luckily that didn't require crutches, just a splint/boot thing, but it didn't get this swollen/purple/hurt this much). I was wondering if anyone had ever broken their foot in a similar manner (dropping something really heavy on it) and how long it took for them to walk normally, if they had a cast, crutches? What can I expect (assuming it's broken) ?

hmmmmmmmmmm.. i`m not a doctor, but i think Ur leg is not broken just crack. Yah for sure i suggest U to check it to hospital, cz if its really crack the healing time its not take a long time but if its broken, it will takes very long time to heal, especially for rehabilitation.. i hope i`m wrong, i hope Ur foot just bruised... take care

If it is broken you will need to avoid weight bearing for at least 8 weeks. Probably a cast may need to be put and you will be on crutches for at least 2 months. Even after that no strenous activity for at least 3 months but that depends on which bone was broken and how severe the break is.
