How can I get my tongue to heal fast?

How do I reduce the swelling and get this cut on my tongue to heal?

• I must have had a nightmare and bit it because I woke up a few days ago with teeth marks on the side of my tongue. Apparently, I also bit a chunk out of my cheek, but that one doesn't hurt as bad. My tongue is so swollen I can barely eat or drink.

  EASY: 1. Ice cubes or ice water to help with the swelling. 2. Vitamin E (break open the liquiGel and apply to tongue) 3. For pain, apply "Kank-A" canker sore med (better than just about anything) 4. (optional) Naproxen ("Alleve") for the pain. 5. (This one might sound odd). Have your family chiropractor work on your neck, to normalize the nerve supply to your mouth..and to remove neck pain, which you pobably have, but didn't notice. Check out your neck, right now!! 6. Drink plenty of water, and rinse out your mouth with sea salt occasionally (though this will probably hurt). No hurry about my consultation fee!! ; )
