Arthroscopic knee surgery?
-
I work as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and tore something in my knee. Either ligaments, meniscus or cartilage, going for the MRI next week. The DR has said something about arthroscopic knee surgery, how long would I be in the hospital and more importantly how long would this take me out of work?

Answer:
It depends on how severe is your condition. I handled a lot of post-op ACL patients during rehabilitaion process that underwent to a arthroscopic knee surgery. Its not a life threatening procedure and less scar after surgery. Your DR may let you stay in the hospital fo at least 2-5 days it depends what is torn(ligament/meniscus) or degree of recovery. Then after the surgery you can have your rehabilitaion process and your physiotherapist will help you in returning to your work. This may take 4-6 weeks or 4 months at least to be sure that the injured part is healed and ready for a strenuous work. Hope I helped you with my ideas.
