How to treat an ingrown toenail?

How can I treat my ingrown toenail?

  • Okay so about a month and a half ago I cut my nail too much and the corner had come off a lot and started to bleed, i cleaned it up, but I was unable to pull a tiny part out, I thought i would leave it so I did and my nail has now grown back but I have a really sore right side of my right big toe and it is swollen and VERY tender to touch... I clean it well in the bath since earlier it has been seeping pus. How can I keep it as best as I can til my doctors appointment in 2 days? And also, what will the doctor do? Will i have to have my toenail removed? I really really dont want that to happen.

  • Answer:

If the nail isn't infected, try placing a cotton ball or some waxed dental floss underneath the nail to separate it from the skin. Soak the nail a few times a day in warm water to keep it clean and to sooth any discomfort. Wear comfortable shoes and allow the nail to grow and heal on its own.

No don't worry they won't remove your toenail, but in the meantime what you can do is soak your feet in some water and throw a little olive oil in there to soften the area around the nail. After soaking the nail for about 10min get a nail filer and open the space around the toenail, if you can go underneath it and clean it thoroughly. I also suggest you start getting a pedicure twice a month

get a little cottoning wool left up the nail a little put it under tap to keep it there till nail grow over it that what hospital did with my
