What's a good shoulder workout?

Whats wrong with my shoulder?

  • I've had this shoulder problem for a while now. My whole football season this year(3 months), and last years season also. I play offensive line. I dont know how to explain it. I get this pain where if i fall on my shoulder(like for a fumble), theres this intense pain for a couple minutes, and its numb, and it goes all the way up to my neck. Also, it happens if i have my arms out to block, and usually when someone runs into my arms theres instant pain in my shoulders. This happens every game, and usually every practice. The pain stays there for quite some time, but it hurts the most the first 5-10ish minutes. My arms also feel very weak. With my arms straight down, i cant push my arm in without getting pain in my shoulder. By the way this is primarily in myleft shoulder, but has happend to my right shoulder. Also, putting pressure on the back of my shoulder and in a certain position in the front is also very painful. This last friday we had a game and the same thing happened and this one is by far the worst. After that one i cant do shoulder shrugs with no weights without some pain. My left side of my neck also hurts more than usual. My trainers told me that its because i have weaker muscles under my main shoulder muscles. But im convinced since it happens so many times that thats not just the reason. I went to the doctor, he said i had shoulder tendinitis but in my opinion he didnt really check it that well. I was out for a week and after that week my shoulder felt a lot better, but i was also taking a lot of advil. I also cant bench or do pushups after like 2 reps. What should i do about it? Theres only one more week of my season left by the way.

    rest your body. it sounds like you have gained a shoulder injury of some kind and playing a heavily contact sport isnt helping it recover. see a doctor as well or a physio or ask your coach/ trainers about the problem so you can seek the appropriate help to recover
