How do you heal a pulled hamstring very quickly?

How to heal my pulled hamstring?

  • One day after hockey practice my upper thigh started hurting, not too bad. I didnt pay much attention to it. The next day after hockey it started hurting a little worse, still didnt mind it. The next day i couldnt accelerate. i had to sit out from practice. Coach said it was a pulled hamstring. It doesnt seem too serious though, but it still really hurts to skate and push off from it. Its weird though because i can run and jump fine, just cannot skate. (And some awkward positions lead to pain). Ive been icing it, elevating it, have it wrapped in an ace bandage, and resting it. Its been about a week and our first game starts tomorrow. It doesnt seem that bad, and other suggestions? (A physical trainer said it might be partially my glute too). Thanks.

  • Answer:

Rest! Need time to heal as your muscles experienced pull & tear. Stay in best to maintain the thigh WARM. Icing reduces Pain but delay healing as it decreases circulation to injured area!!!! Take some multivitamins too! Best wishes!
