How long does it take for a bruise to heal?

  • Ok, well several weeks ago (maybe a month or so) I asked about my leg being fractured/broken I think. Anyway, it was hit off a bus seat (the metal part, really really hard) and it hurt for almost a week or so. I could walk on it but it hurt when I touched it very lightly. Like I said, it's been about a month and the bruise is still there and if I feel where the bruise is, it feels kinda like a knot right there. How long should it take for a bruise to heal? Please and thank you.

  • Answer:

A deep bruise, one that goes into the muscle and maybe even to the bone, will take much longer than a surface bruise. Think on the scale of healing a cut that goes to the bone. That much repair is needed and also that much time.

If you hit it REALLY hard perhaps a month or so. To make the wait shorter, try rubbing an egg on it so it has circulation. Also try putting ice. Hope I helped =D Get Well :)
