What kind of knee injury might I have? My knee hurts when I have something heavy on my foot (boot, ski, etc)?
-
When I was about 10, I had a major injury to my right knee. I was running and slipped and fell on concrete. I don't remember the specific injury, or whether it was ligament or cartilage based. I had no insurance, so the treatment plan included crutches and an ace bandage. But since then, I have had repeated instances of trouble with that knee. Weight bearing on the knee doesn't seem to cause problems, but weight "lifting" using the knee can be very painful. It feels like the top and bottom half of my leg will separate via my knee. Does anyone know what sort of injury could cause pain like this? Thanks!!

Answer:
I think you may have broken a ligament and it has probably joined in the wrong place. I would suggest visiting a doctor or hospital and get them to check it out.
