Should I be worried about this spider bite?

Got a large spider/bug bite, should I be worried?

  • Yesterday morning I woke up to an unpleasant bite on my right hip. I assume it was some sort of spider judging by its size and puncture marks. It was pretty swollen, about the size of a quarter. It has a firm, dark red lump in the middle, surrounded by a lighter red ring. The dark lump is about the size of a dime, while the outer ring completes the size. It is painful to the touch, especially since it is right where the waist of my pants rest (which just irritates it I assume). Now today, about 36 hours after I noticed the bite, it has swollen a little more, now it is almost the size of a half dollar. The middle lump hasn't increased in size much. It isn't anymore sensitive than it was yesterday. I have experienced no physical symptoms or anything noticeable other than the bite itself. Any ideas? Should I be worried? Any possible treatments?

You should go to the doctor, probably nothing, but you should go anyway, just in case.
