What's the best interval running workout?

Archilles tendon (back of heel) really hurts and started after running on saturday. What is it/what shld i do?

  • This happened after running 6 miles and rowing on a machine for about 6.5 miles. I've just started rowing again with my school's team and we had the above workout out last saturday (first week Id been back working out). I've never run 6miles before and had not been keeping in shape prior to that week. at first it only hurt going down stairs. Id have to turn sideways and walk down slowly to make it not hurt so much. Monday at school i really felt it as i go down a lot of stairs. I thought practice may help stretch it out but its only gotten worse. Now im frequently limping while i walk to keep it from hurting so much. i cant walk fast at all otherwise it'l hurt immensley. as for goin down the stairs i've almost completely relied on the railing as my compensating for my hurt ankle now has my left knee hurting when i go down stairs. laying down, if i move my ankle back and forth i can feel something like scrunching. it kinda feels like im bending leather. its kinda hard to describe but thts what it feels like. and if you put a finger on it u can feel tht scrunching/scraping sensation. I'm almost certain its not a bone injury but most likely something to do with my achilles tendon. any ideas whats wrong? is it worth seeing a doctor?

  • Answer:

Yes it is worth seeing a doctor about. Maybe it is nerve damage, but it sounds like some sort of sprain. Definitely go see a doctor, because it could be somethin RARE or DIABETES by the way I am not joking.
