Will my toenail grow back after ingrown toenail surgery?
-
Doctor said he is going to kill the toe nail root/border to prevent ingrown toenails from coming back. Will I have a toe nail after he puts the chemical?
-
Answer:
I've had that kind of surgery before. Only the places where he injected the medicine, that is to say where your ingrown nail was will not grow back. The rest of your nail should be fine. Well for most people it doesn't grow back. I've heard a few cases where the procedure needed to be repeated but I'm pretty happy. Haven't had an ingrown toenail in that area since and it's been about two years.
