Your Court costs and legal fees will likely come to about $150 MORE than your lawyer is able to "secure" a first settlement offer for, and he/she will likely advise you to "take this offer!" at that point, and warn you 'They may have video footage that indicates it was your own fault (which they probably do.) Best case scenario you'll be $100-$300 out-of-pocket as a consequence of this (plus any out-of-pocket medical expenses)...the truth is, it was YOUR fault you fell over, you weren't paying attention where you were going....for it to be the Supermarket's fault, you would have to show they were negligent, which, unless they sent someone out to put something slippery in your path on purpose, they were not... Your lawyer took the case because he/she is aware that businesses usually "settle" small complaints with a few thousand dollar offer just to make them "go away" rather than pursue them...the lawyer will get most of that, and as I said above, you will not get enough to cover the fees YOU will also be charged!

you couldnt get anymore then 10000 after fees and what not. but if its a big chain supermarket dont wast your time youll never win it.
