Tendonitis in my knee?
-
I have tendonitis in my knee so therefore it's technically patellar tendonitis. I've had it since the beginning of the school year but it got better over the winter. About a week ago it started hurting again and now it's back to about how bad it was earlier which is very bad. My physical therapist had said at one point that my hips are out of line and that puts stress on my tendon. What should I do about it besides RICE therapy which I'm doing quite often? I want to go to the doctor only as a last minute thing. Thanks!

Answer:
Are you pigeoned toed? That could be why your hips are out of line. To fix this without doctor's help and special shoes and such, you're gonna have to train yourself to walk with your feet out. Trust me, it's harder than it sounds since I'm still trying to do it myself. Always be conscience of it. Also, I have patellar tendonitis. My trainer said it was genetic and it is caused by something with my quad muscle pulling it wrong whenever I walked. The only way to fix it he said was to do exercises that strengthened your quad. So, work out those quads! You can do hat my cycling and looking up other exercises. Make sure to stretch before hand! Also, if your knees begin to swell (mine did quite a lot) ice them AFTER you finish your exercises. You don't want a pulled quad muscle, trust me.

Vanessa has a pretty good idea of what to do for the long run, i.e., what you should do to prevent further patellar tendinitis from occurring. However, to get rid of your Patellar tendinitis quickly in the short run, I recommend you use a product called the FASTT patch. It is designed to heal tendinitis and a 3-patch treatment should heal your injury within 17 days.
