the first week will be the worse after 2 weeks it feels much much better pain wise. keep up with therapy. you can walk after like 2 weeks or 3. you can jog after 2 to 3 months. you can run at 4 to 5 months. then contact sports after like 7 months. chances of re-injuring are very small. the graft is so much stronger then any ligament. make sure you do your rehab everyday also strengthening you knee and getting full range of motion back before surgery speeds up recovery.

ACL surgery can be tough but its very common and doesnt have to be too bad. I have written about my recovery here: http://www.aclsurgeryrecovery.net Walk - 1-4 weeks Jog/Run - 3-4 Months Speed up....here is my ACL surgery recovery timeline I am following to try and have a speedy recovery... http://www.aclsurgeryrecovery.net/acl-surgery-recovery-timeline/
