Fell on right side of foot now ankle hurts?
-
Well today I was playing speed ball in gym and I jumped up to intercept a ball and landed on the right side if my foot. It throbbed in pain like I wanted to scream for about 3 minutes then gradually got better. But still hurts I cannot go up stairs without taking one foot at a time and I have been icing it but it doesn't seem to work. The part that really hurts his go to the outside of your right foot that round circle bone thing and the little like lines you feel above it really hurt. I play soccer and I missed all last week practice sick. I would like to know what could be wrong? My parents don't believe that it hurts and that I'm exhaturating. Oh and when I point and really flex my foot all the way the pain is terrible! Thanks!

Answer:
a few things could be wrong. one is you could have a sprain or two you could have a stress fracture in one of the small bone in your foot. you need to go to the Dr's for a x-ray to be sure. you may or may not need a cast.your parents need to take you to the drs asap. I would never let something like that go untreated with my son or daughter. i take them to the drs or urgent care for just about anything i feel needs to be looked at. just for my piece of mind if anything. i hope things get better for you!! best of luck! A stress fracture is one type of incomplete fracture in bones. It is caused by "unusual or repeated stress"[1] This is in contrast to other types of fractures, which are usually characterized by a solitary, severe impact. It could be described as a very small sliver or crack in the bone;[2] this is why it is sometimes dubbed "hairline fracture". It typically occurs in weight-bearing bones, such as the tibia (bone of the lower leg) and metatarsals (bones of the foot). A sprain is actually an injury to the ligaments of the ankle joint, which are elastic, band-like structures that hold the bones of the ankle joint together and prevent excess turning and twisting of the joint. In normal movement, the ligaments can stretch slightly and then retract back to their normal shape and size. A sprain results when the ligaments of the ankle have been stretched beyond their limits. In severe sprains, the ligaments may be partially or completely torn. To diagnose a sprained ankle, your doctor may order X-rays or other imaging studies to confirm that a bone has not been broken.
