Have any of you guys ever had a concussion?

  • On may 16th 2011 I was playing basketball in gym and I was going to steal the ball, some how I tripped, and that's the last thing I remember. I guess I blacked out for a little bit. The next thing. I remember were my legs having the feeling of needles, a bad headache, and dizziness. I got up web to the nurse but she wasn't there yet. I walked back down to the gym but gym was over so me and my friends walked to our next class. There my teacher forced mento go back to the nurse and she did some random tests and stuff. I web to the hospital later that night and was told I had a concussion and possible chipped bone in my chin (tho that ended up fine) I had a headache for 2 weeks straight. Any of you guys have any interesting stories of concussions? Lol

    When I was 11 I was running down the stairs in the house I grew up in. Halfway down I thought of something really happy and I did a little jump. I had a very vivid imagination. Unfortunately right where I jumped there was a kind of bar across the stairs from the bottom of the landing, so I smacked my head on it and fell down the stairs. LOL. I was actually okay at first, but then after about an hour I got all dizzy and sick and had to go to Accident and Emergency. My mum had to explain it. XD

Headaches and dizziness are signs of tight neck muscles so they are giving you part of your problem. When the neck muscles get tight they put pressure on the blood vessels that restricts the blood flow from your head. That means you aren't getting in as much fresh blood as you should so the brain ends up with a lowered oxygen level there. You will know when the oxygen level has dropped when you feel very tired. If the level drops more you will get dizzy, light headed, and if it drops more you will pass out. Your neck muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles going around your head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that's your headache. So it sounds more like you blacked out and if you free up your neck muscles so the pain goes away and the blood is returned to it's normal flow you won't have any problems at all. Here's how to free up your neck muscles to correct those things: Neck Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After about 30 to 45 seconds, when you don’t feel the muscles releasing any longer, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds. repeat if needed For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

When I was 8, I rode my bike off a 30 foot cliff and landed on my face. Doctor said it was a miracle I wasn't killed. I know that from what other people told me. I have no memory from that whole day.

Well, I was about ten, and I was standing next to a gate. Somebody swung the gate open and it hit my head (right next to one of my eyebrows). I was out cold for a couple of minutes, and I woke up with blood all over me, my head was ringing, and I was totally dizzy. Later I nearly blacked out twice and did have a bad headache for a few days. I did not go to the hospital, but everybody says that I had a concussion.
