Do i have a broken finger?

Yesterday i was playing catch with my brother and i caught the football and then my middle finger at the very top part started hurting, so i thought it was just going to go away. In the Next Couple of minutes it still hurt so i tried to bend it, i can but it hurts and i can't bend that top part at all. I've never broken anything in my life so i don't know if that top part is broken. Its a tad swollen but not at the top part, but at the bottom part of my finger. My dad said I just jammed it or something like that and it happens and it will go away but it hurts worse than it did yesterday!!! If it continues tomorrow or more than tomorrow, should i go to Ready Care or somewhere to get a finger splint?? It hurts really bad and i can't really touch it without it massively hurting! What should i Do?????

I have broken pretty much every bone in my body. When something is swollen it means that something is definetly wrong. It's probably broken, so instead of getting a splint get some "injury tape and tape your middle finger and index finger together.

i think that your dad is right. I think you jammed it, when I jam my finger it takes a while to go away, ice it. good luck hope you feel better soon!!!

Getting an xray is the only way to know it's broken. Yes, do the urgent care tomorrow. Ice it and elevate it above your heart for now to help with the swelling and pain. get well soon.

The same thing happened to me a while back. If its broken you would tell. Your finger would be 4 times the size and it will look dark purple. If it was broken also then it would not hurt after a hour unless you massively hurt it though by how you described it I don't think so.
