How do I treat a toenail infection?

Is this a toenail Infection or cuticle infection and how do I treat it?

  • I know this is whole thing is sooo gross but about two years ago I slammed a door strait onto my big toenail in it lifted up and fell off completely a few days later..so after it finally grew back in ..my nail was really think at first from damage I guess?.. Then that grew out and everything seemed fine. ..but just recently ..about 7 days ago it turned yellow and then the cuticle looks like its extremely swollen and pulled back a lot. I pushed on it and some clear stuff came out (sorry I know its too much info) and It has been hurting sooooooo bad since the cuticle has been infected or whatever this is! I am such a clean freak so I don't know how I got an infection. Please any advice on what this is? What to do? How to treat it? Thank you for your time and listening to this gross story haha.

  • Answer:

Get it tested it may be fungal infection. Run to a Dr. make sure lab test is done. Lamasile (spelling?) is used for this, it was prescription but now it is over the counter. It is serious can loose the leg or it can kill you too.

you need to heat a needle until its red hot (it needs to be red hot or it wont fully disinfect and drain the infected puss) after making sure the needle is hot enough, slowly push the needle through your nail. this will release infected puss and disinfect any other affected areas. you will feel a slight tingling sensation as you do so, but this is normal.
