What should i do about a permanent bruise?

I think I have a permanent bruise? HELP!?

• Okay so back at the end of soccer season our team had a party to celebrate the end of the season and we were all at this playground by a school (We're 17 year olds but we thought it would be fun lol). Anyways the eleven of us were on the merry go round (The old fashioned ones that you have to spin). Well as stupid as this may sound, I was the one spinning it and I jumped on when it was spinning to enjoy the ride. But I missed and smacked my shin super hard on the metal merry go round as it was going really fast. It immidiately swelled up and bruised pretty bad and it has some red in the middle of it still. The pain has now finally gone away and the swelling but the bruise and the knot is still there. I don't know what to do. Should I talk to a doctor about this this isn't normal I know. So what should I do about this? Thanks for answering I really appriciate it.

  How long have you had this bruise? If it hasn't been there that long it should heal. I had a bruise like that, it stayed for months but it eventually disappeared. I was getting worried, but it was totally fine afterwards. If you're seriously concerned, go and see a doctor, they'll sort you out. Maybe some arnica cream would help, although I'm not sure if that only heals recent bruises. Anyway, I hope this helps and you heal properly soon! x
