How long will a scar be sensitive after surgery?

I've just had surgery ten days ago. How long until my scar heals?

I had a splenectomy ten days ago and had my pins taken out of my chest wound today - it's still hard to stand up straight and to walk up the stairs. I'm sixteen years old and the doctors haven't told me how long it is meant to take to heal.. well, I was too out of it to ask them at the time if I'm honest. Anyway, after such a procedure how long do you think it would usually take for the scar to heal? It's in the centre of my stomach and is about 4 inches or so, and the nurse today did say that it was looking well.

about a year. my centerline scar from a colon resection is visible, but not red. it may never completely go away.
