Need a good foot doctor in Illinois?

I have an extra bone in my foot and my doctor says i need a brace. y?

• i went to the doctor and he took ex-rays and he showed me it and i have a bone there on my right foot that is by my ankle. how did i get that and why do i need a brace?

  The extra bone is called an accessory navicular and it doesn't mean anything unless it hurts there. A lot of people have them and they just live with it. If it hurts there they can take it out. The brace is to help you from re injuring it again and allow you to get around. I'm thinking an Aircast ankle brace or Don Joy Velocity ankle brace. They help you from twisting your ankle so that the ligaments will heal. Either one will work it's just that one cost more than another. Oh I forgot you're a soccer player. If you want a brace to play in then you should get the BSN Ortho-Glass AS splint it is a much lower profile and will fit in your soccer shoes and also accommodate your shin guards. I use to coach soccer and the kids liked that one the best except it doesn't last very long because the velcro tears at the bottom, where the sides of the brace and velcro meet. It's kinda flimsy there. I tell the kids to reinforce it with duck tape to make it last longer while they are playing.
