How long will it take for my ligament to heal?

  • I damaged my ligament when snowboarding the doctor said it will take 10-14 days to heal i am on day 9 now and it has healed a lot but i don't think its going to be 100% by day 14 i read online that it takes years or months for it to heal is this true?? i am also 15 so since i am young it will heal faster?

    I damaged/sprained/tore a ligament as well when I was 12. If it wasnt completely torn, it should heal on its own since you are still growing and have a better blood flow. It could take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months. If it doesnt get better within 2 months with ice, rest, brace/bandage, and elevation then you might want to get a second opinion or arthroscopy.

Yerr most of the pain will go in 10-14 days but you may still have a little pain that could take months to repair but you may be lucky and escape that. u will still get moments in years to come were it hurts. My mum did the Same as ur younger it may heal quicker. Hope this helped and get better soon.
