Ankle pain. No swelling but very painful?

Ankle pain but no swelling? Please help!!?

  • About two weeks ago, on the top of my foot where my leg and my ankle meet started hurting really bad when I was swimming. (I'm a competitive swimmer) some one said it was a tendon? But the pain is like crazy! I feels like someones taking my ankle and pulling it apart! But my mom refuses to take me to the doctor because it's not swollen!!!!! So what's going on? I think the tendon is called an extensor Digitorum Longus? I googled it haha.. So please help!!! I've been icing it and elevating and all that but now it hurts even when I walk! Thanks!

  • Answer:

It's either a bad sprain of a muscle or a pulled tendon or ripped tissue.. I broke the tip of my ankle off last year, and trust me if it's broken, it will definitely swell up . mine did to the size of a softball and bruised almost halfway up my leg... Like i said I think its a pulled tendon or something.. Take it easy on it. try not to walk to much and if you do keep it stiff. Once the pain gets to wear you can handle it, start walking slowly on it, bending swiftly.. If you keep it stiff for too long the tendon or tissue will heal up to short, and you'll have even more pain trying to stretch it back out
