How long is too long for a sprained ankle to heal?

I sprained my ankle last tuesday how long is it going to take to heal!?!.please help!!..im a dancer?

• I sprained my ankle Last tuesday doing a cartwheel with no hands on the floor (arial) cause my teacher wanted to see if i could do it so i can do it in the recital. but i did it a couple times and i kept landing hard but ! i felt nothing when i landed. the next day it started hurting. and im pretty sure its sprained. how long is this going to take to heal? i dance everyday for 7 hours. and i havnt ben able to do anything full out or i skip class =/ please help me not sure wat to do =/

  Soft tissue injuries take a while to heal. Keep the foot elevated as much as possible. Warm compresses and anti - inflammatory Medications are the best thing. Give it 3 weeks, you can do real harm if your not careful. I am very sympathetic, I am a ballroom dancer and dance 4 days a week. Going to compete in gold and open at the Ohio Star Ball this year. I would be like McCartney's Ex. and dance on one leg if I had too.
